Stalin released, DMK to protest arrest

DMK leader MK Stalin was taken into preventive custody on Saturday morning in Thanjavur when he objected to the police from stopping his convoy. He was detained for staging a road-block and was later released.
Stalin spoke exclusively to CNN-IBN and said that the AIADMK government is framing his party members with false cases.
"We are all victims of the AIADMK government's vendetta politics. They are imposing false cases against all our party members," Stalin said.
"This is an attempt to stop our agitation against the AIADMK atrocities. They have posed false cases against us. We have been taken into custody for no reasons. We have been locked up in a hall, and we have no clue when we will be released," added Stalin when he was detained.
DMK member Pundi Kalaivanan travelling with Stalin, was also detained. The police wanted to question Kalaivanan for his alleged role in the murder of a student.
Action was taken against another DMK MLA Anbaragan who was arrested in Chennai on Saturday on charges of allegedly forcing a paper mill owner to part with his property.
He is the latest DMK leader to be arrested in a land-grabbing case. Last week four close aides of MK Alagiri were arrested.
